Mammoth - Lake Tahoe Ski Tour
Ski Tour Highlights
From Las Vegas to Mammoth Mountain to Lake Tahoe.
This ski tour is for the true ski enthusiast who wants to ski on some of the biggest resorts the Western United States has to offer; all while leaving all the planning, booking, driving, and transporting gear to someone else! PLUS you have the benefit of being accompanied by a Professional Ski Instructor and Coach! With Tour Master Erwin Kollegger, a World Class Ex-Ski Racer and Freestyler, you’ll be skiing in good company. This tour takes you from Las Vegas to Mammoth Mountain in a comfortable custom conversion van, traveling northwest through the beauty of the western desert. Taking you through the mountains over a beautiful pass and the nearby Ancient Bristlecone Forest – to arrive in Mammoth Lakes.
One reason Mammoth Mountain is one of my local favorites is the amount of snow it receives. Recent snow storms this year have dropped more than 15 feet of fresh white powder on the mountain just this March 2019 alone! In fact there was so much snow, the ski resort had to be closed for two days! Mammoth Mountain has one of the longest ski seasons in North America, which averages from the start of November to Memorial Day. The resort occasionally enjoys a longer season, as in 2016/2017, when it opened on November 8th and didn’t close until August 6th. That season was the second snowiest on record, with 618 inches of snow! Every year we’re hopeful for this same record snowfall and extended ski season!
We will leave from Las Vegas approx. 11am to make it to Mammoth for Happy Hour! While you enjoy cocktails, your bags and ski gear will be transported to your pre-booked hotel room. You only need to enjoy a great dinner and get a good night’s sleep for some awesome skiing the next day!
Some clients may opt for only one day of skiing at Mammoth while others may desire two days (select from the drop down on the Reservation Page). After Mammoth we take a short drive to Lake Tahoe where we spend the night, once again in a pre/booked resort hotel.
Lake Tahoe skiing is well diversified, big resorts around the Lake such as Heavenly Valley, Northstar, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley and, one of my favorites, Kirkwood!
Depending on the snow conditions I will pick the resort with the most snow and best skiing conditions. Here, our clientele may also choose to ski for one day, or two; and at one resort or two different resorts within the Lake Tahoe area.
The Lake Tahoe weather snow totals are near 400 inches this season with more on tap! This is one great reason to ski Lake Tahoe, the other, – gambling and the nightlife!
Satisfied with our tour days of skiing and fun we can drive back to Las Vegas, a comfortable ride along the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and the Death Valley National Park. Or, some clients prefer to take the short one hour flight back to Las Vegas and leave all the gear to be transported back to your Vegas hotel by Tour Master Erwin.
